UAP Idaho · an Idaho sky log

Look up. Write it down. Check it twice.

We keep a plain-language log of odd lights and strange moments in Idaho’s big skies, and we do the unglamorous part first: ruling out everything ordinary before anyone gets excited.

How we workSaw something?

Our method, in three steps

1

Write it down

Date, time with time zone, compass direction, how long, what it did. Details first, adjectives never.

2

Rule out the ordinary

Aircraft, rocket launches, Starlink trains, balloons, bright planets, fireballs, drones, weather. Most things end here, and that is fine.

3

Share what holds up

We publish only what we can tie to a source we can name. Anything about private people stays private.

Where we look

Open sources

  • Fireball and meteor reports (AMS and IMO)
  • Space-weather and aurora forecasts
  • FAA notices and launch schedules
  • Local news and public posts
  • Historical NUFORC patterns, as an archive snapshot

Common look-alikes

  • Starlink trains after a launch
  • Venus or Jupiter low on the horizon
  • Aircraft landing lights seen head-on
  • Weather balloons and sky lanterns
  • Fireballs breaking up overhead

House rules

  1. Nothing made up. If we do not know, we say “we don’t know.”
  2. No private people. No names, phone numbers or addresses of witnesses, ever.
  3. No hype. No secret-file theatrics, no borrowed footage, no invented sightings.
